Josh's Bass - 03/14/2010

This is a shot of the volute after ruffing in the neck. The materials used is Eastern Hard Maple and Padouk.

Here is a shot of the back side of the body.  The body material is Alder.

I wet the body with some thinner to show how beautiful this piece of old growth Walnut will be upon finish. The fretboard is Birds Eye Maple with Walnut fret markers.  I have other pics from earlier stages but I cant find them in the computer. As soon as I do I'll post them as well.

Heres a shot of the cavity routed out for the electronics.

I got a coat of sealer on Joshs bass today.

This is a shot of the front side after sealer. Gonna try to get a coat of lacquer on it in the next few days after sanding.

And now we sit and watch lacquer dry, while we are working on other projects of course.

Here's the back side.

Finally got Josh's bass sprayed, sanded, and buffed.  Not a bad piece of Walnut huh?

A shot of the backside as well.

I have some more pics of the bass with the electronics and hardware being installed as well.  I'll get those posted shortly.

Jeremys archtop - 03/14/2010

These are the materials that were selected for this project.

This is a piece of Wenge veneer that will be under a piece of Quilt for the face of the head stock. The quilt will be from the same piece as the body.

This is a shot after the truss rod was routed.

Here we have a shot of the fret board being glued up. This is a piece of Brazilian Rosewood that was milled in the 60's. I'll post more pics as the project continues.
