4 String - 01/10/2011

 

Here are the beginnings of this 4 string project.

 

 

Decided to use an Ebony fret board.

 

 

Fret board is slotted.  Time for markers.

 

 

Got the markers and frets installed.

 

 

Using an Ebony veneer for the head stock.

 

 

Time for the wings to be glued to the neck.  The wings are Ash.

 

 

After I glued the other wing on I routed the body shape and sanded.

 

 

 

I'm ready to route out the pup cavities and prep for clear coat.  I'll post more pics soon.

Again I didn't grab the camera when I started this one so here's what I have. 

 

 

After fitting the kneck pocket and rough cutting the body I routed and sanded it.

 

 

 

Drawn the cavity and got it cut out in the pic below.

 

 

Now its time for paint.

 

 

 

 

I'll shoot more pics once I get the neck bolted on and get it ready for clear coat.

Got the neck carved.

 

 

Got the top book matched and body shape drawn out.

 

 

Here's a shot with the neck pocket cut.

 

 

Got the top glued and routed out.

 

 

 

Routed the body out.
